* As soon as the first rays of sunshine timidly appear on the surrounding mountain peaks, it becomes clear that getting up early was worth it. A mountain tour to watch the sunrise on Mt Sciliar/Schlern is a special experience.
The meeting point with the mountain guide is at 4 a.m. in Compatsch on the Alpe di Siusi/Seiser Alm. From there, a shuttle service will take you to the Saltnerhütte Tschapit hut, where the ascent begins. Equipped with headlamps, you’ll reach Mt Petz at 2,564m just in time for sunrise at around 6.50 a.m. After this natural spectacle, a well-deserved breakfast awaits the early risers at the Rifugio Bolzano/Schlernhaus hut, also known as the “castle in the mountains”.

1.15 hours from Saltnerhütte Tschapit hut to Compatsch (4.1km, 135m uphill, 128m downhill)
