Elena De Martin met Ashtanga Yoga in the late 1990s. Since 2000, she has travelled to India every year to deepen her experience at the source of the tradition, meeting great Masters such as Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, his daughter Sarasvati and his grandson R. Sharath Jois. To broaden her knowledge more and more, she studied Sanskrit, Yoga Philosophy, the scriptures and their Chanting under M.A. Jayashree and M.A. Narasimhan. Parallel to the study of Ashtanga, she approached Vipassana Meditation in 2001, according to the teachings of Master S.N. Goenka.

Elena has been teaching in Milan since 2001, holds seminars in Italy and abroad and has obtained one of the highest recognitions from the 'Sri K.Pattabhi Jois Ashtanga Yoga Institute' in Mysore, the Level 2 authorisation for the teaching of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga.
