The Val Badia valley is the stronghold of Ladin culture and the heart of the Dolomites. This secondary valley of Val Pusteria is characterized by hamlets called viles, where the truest Alpine tradition is treasured. The upper valley, called Alta Badia, is a glamorous destination hosting the rich and the famous. Alta Badia is loved in summer and adored in winter: its ski area, included in the Dolomiti Superski ski domain, attracts in fact many visitors with its international events, modern facilities, awarded restaurants and elegant shops.

What yousee in this valley is a picture-perfect natural landscape, surrounded by the natural reserves of Fanes-Senes-Braies and Puez-Odle, and by the mountain groups Sella, Sassongher, Cunturines, Sasso Santa Croce and Gardenaccia. The area is divided into 5 municipalities: Marebbe, San Martino, La Valle, Badia and Corvara, that set the trend in local style. These small yet elegant and lovely hamlets blend beautifully with the surroundings: it’s not per chance that the Touring Club awarded this valley with the title of best tourist resort in the Alps.
Here snow dominates the landscape. You will be spoilt for choice when it comes to decide which ski route to take: Sellaronda ski tour, the breathtaking descents of the Lagazuoi, or those of Gran Risa. In summer you can practice trekking, mountain biking, horseback riding, and golf on a 9 hole course. There are also many international events, like ski world championships, ski mountaineering competitions and mountain bike races.
